About Haven Permaculture

Haven Permaculture is a family-run, faith-driven regenerative design company rooted in the Missouri Ozarks. We were founded by Jamon Mysliwiec — known as The Independent American Gardener — an international permaculture educator, designer, and founder of TIAG Communities.

Jamon has spent years studying, designing, and living regenerative land systems. He and his family don’t just teach permaculture — they practice it on their own land in Ava, Missouri, in the heart of the Ozarks. That lived experience is the foundation of everything Haven does.

We work with families, homesteaders, farmers, churches, schools, and organizations who want their land to do more — to feed them, sustain them, and last for generations. Our work spans food forests, edible and native landscapes, water systems, earthworks, and whole-property permaculture design. We consult on-site and virtually, anywhere in the United States, its territories, and Canada. Closer to home, our crew provides hands-on property maintenance throughout the Ava and Springfield Ozarks area.

Faith and family are at the center of this work. We believe that caring for the land is part of caring for one another, and that a well-tended home is one of the most meaningful things a family can build.
